Becoming C-NRPP certified gives you access to programs, training, resources and technology so you can enhance your service offering, reach more customers, learn from experts and continue elevating respect for our industry.

 

Become a C-NRPP Radon Measurement Professional:

Step 1: Complete Entry Level Radon Measurement Course

C-NRPP sets standards and review courses, but independent providers provide delivery.

Step 2: Pass a C-NRPP Entry Level Radon Measurement Exam:

  • Available in both French and English in paper-and-pencil format
  • Classroom style courses include the exam immediately following the course.
  • Students taking an On-line Radon Measurement Certification course, must arrange to write the exam using a proctor – see details in Step 3.

Step 3: Write a Proctored exam

Step 4: Complete the CNRPP/CARST New Application 

  • Complete form and email to info@c-nrpp.ca or mail to address on form
  • Pay application fee
    • Fee is $175 per year ($100 C-NRPP Certification and $75 Annual CARST Membership)
      • The CARST fee is applied to every professional, not every certification purchased
    • certification renewal credits need to be submitted every two years

 

 

 

Become a C-NRPP Analytical Laboratory:

There must be at least one individual with the Radon Measurement Professional Certification to certify as a C-NRPP Analytical Laboratory.

Step 1: Complete the CNRPP New Application

  • C-NRPP Analytical Laboratory Application
  • Include Quality Assurance Manual
  • Include Calibration Certificates
  • Include Spike/Performance Test Certificates
  • Complete form and email to info@c-nrpp.ca or mail to address on form
  • Pay application fee

 

Become a C-NRPP Radon Mitigation Professional:

Step 1: Complete Entry Level Radon Measurement Course (see above)

Step 2: Complete Entry Level Radon Mitigation Course

 

Step 3: Pass a C-NRPP Entry Level Radon Mitigation Exam:

  • Available in both French and English in paper-and-pencil format
  • Classroom style courses include the exam immediately following the course.
  • Field exercises, included with classroom course; completed through a distance mentorship with the On-Line course
  • Students taking an On-line Radon Mitigation Certification course, must arrange to write the exam using a proctor. (see details in Step 4)

 

Step 4: Write a Proctored exam

 

Step 5: Complete the CNRPP/CARST New Application 

  • Submit Course Completion Certificate (confirms completion of Hands-On Requirements)
  • Confirmation of mandatory insurance which includes:
    • Coverage should include:
      • $  2 million Commercial General Liability
      • $ 2 million Radon Measurement and Mitigation Errors and Omissions
    • Proof of Coverage:
    • Certificate of Insurance stating:
      • Date coverage is bound
      • Confirmation of insurance coverage including all above limits have been met or exceeded
  • Complete form and email to info@c-nrpp.ca or mail to address on form
  • Pay application fee
    • Fee is $175 per year ($100 C-NRPP Certification and $75 Annual CARST Membership);
    • certification renewal credits need to be submitted every two years

 

 

Timing: Applications take 2-4 weeks to process. An applicant’s certification will appear on the Find a Professional search as they are entered into the C-NRPP database. The physical certificate(s) and ID cards are mailed to the applicant (this can take 2 weeks to receive.)

Length of Certification: Certifications are two-year cycles with an annual fee. Professionals complete 20 credits of Professional Development Practice Credits during their 2 year cycle. Submit course certificates as well as supporting documents upon renewal.
